"You can open you eyes now." Mithoris's voice chimed around me, and i opened my eyes, expecting to be standing in my room, with Demoth and Higen still standing there with me. There had been no change that i had noticed. We hadn't moved a little bit, so where else could i be, except my room?

"Goodnight dear," mother said, kissing my cheek lightly and tucking me into bed tightly, then turning to the door to leave.
The door closed softly behind mom. I pulled the blanket over my head and started to sing; thinking that if I didn't hear them, it would be okay. I was wrong.
It started almost as soon as the door made the soft click of the latch sliding into place. They made themselves known to me then, as always. Little noises, like a shuffling sound by my bed, or the soft fluttering sound by my window.
A shadow passed over my eyes and I whimpered softly.
"Little girl," the chiming voice taunted. "Little girl,
